The MAEPS will remain open all year round as an agritourism attraction

SERDANG: The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries (Mafi) will keep the Malaysian Agribusiness Exhibition Center (MAEPS) open year-round as a permanent venue for agro-tourism exhibitions.

His Minister Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee said that to start with, they will make the paddy field pavilion the project adopted by the Rice Industry Development Department with Padi Beras Nasional Berhad (Bernas).

“The paddy pavilion will become a permanent agritourism site to be promoted throughout the year and not just when holding the Malaysian Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Expo (Maha).

“It’s a new approach that will be taken into account by the management of Mafi to make Maha a prestigious and memorable show,” he said during a press conference after the closing ceremony. of Maha 2022 at MAEPS here.

He said it’s because every time Maha ends, MAEPS will be dropped.

Earlier, as a token of thanks to agencies and departments as well as exhibitors for making Maha 2022 a success, he awarded three special prizes of Best State Pavilion Award, Most Viral Segment Award and bestseller prices.

To make a difference during the Maha 2022 edition, another special prize was awarded to the 1,100,001st visitor to the exhibition which went to Yaakob Man@Othman, a 67-year-old government retiree from Penang. – Bernama
