The highly anticipated attraction will remain closed indefinitely

While theme parks have a wide variety of fun activities and offerings for customers, experiencing the thrills of all the roller coasters and attractions is one of the things customers look forward to most when visiting.

However, fans of this popular theme park have been consistently disappointed as a popular attraction has not reopened since before the pandemic shutdowns and is expected to remain closed indefinitely.

We’re talking about Roman Rapids in Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Virginia. This thrilling water attraction has been closed since before Labor Day 2019. With the closures and subsequent restrictions and limitations imposed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it has been difficult for Busch Gardens Williamsburg to keep this ride staffed. and operational, despite new vehicles arriving at the park from Intamin – the ride’s maker – ahead of the 2021 season.

BGWFans (@BGWFans) posted on the news on Twittercommenting that “problems continue to plague the attraction” and that the previously announced reopening of Roman Rapids in 2022 was highly unlikely.

BGWF fans have also said it’s possible this extended closure could open the door to a major renovation, providing a much-needed update to this 1988 attraction. However, Busch Gardens Williamsburg has not released any official information regarding the Roman Rapids reopening schedule or any future plans for this beloved attraction.

It’s worth pointing out that while out-of-order attractions seem to be a growing problem in the theme park industry, especially as parks have been forced to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most theme parks are constantly working hard to keep their attractions running smoothly to give Guests the best experience while visiting. This includes the ongoing efforts of the various Busch Gardens Williamsburg teams to reopen this popular attraction.
