Table Mountain named ‘Africa’s Best Attraction’ for fourth time
Table Mountain has been nominated by the World Travel Awards for Africa’s Best Attraction.
Africa Melane spoke with Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company Managing Director Wahida Parker about Table Mountain being nominated for Africa’s Top Tourist Attraction at the annual World Travel Awards.
A win for Table Mountain would mean picking up the award for the fourth time.
It is nominated alongside the Egyptian Pyramids of Giza, the V&A Waterfront, Robin Island, Lake Malawi and Mount Kilimanjaro.
Parker said she had no doubts the mountain would win the crown, once again, if South Africans backed her up and voted.
She went on to thank South Africans for supporting the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company during the COVID-19 pandemic when revenues from international revenues declined due to travel restrictions.
We have been supported by local South Africans beyond our wildest imaginations! We are deeply indebted to them. The fact that they kept coming up the mountain ensured that job losses were at a minimum and allowed us to continue trading…many thanks to all of South Africa!
