Sarner will reinvent a historic attraction in Northern Ireland

Sarner International has undertaken a planning and feasibility study for one of Northern Ireland’s most important historic sites.

The experiential design and production practice is working with Mid Ulster District Council on plans for The Hill of the O’Neill, in Dungannon, to secure major funding.

The project aims to reinvent the attraction as one of Northern Ireland’s premier cultural heritage destinations, using digital visualization techniques to recreate the former empire of Earl of Tyrone Hugh O’Neill.

The hill was a bastion of power for over 400 years and was at the center of great upheavals in Irish history, from its beginnings as the seat of the O’Neill dynasty to the flight of the earls and the plantation of Ulster in the 17th century.

Sarner’s Executive Creative Director, Mike Bennett, said: “Over the centuries, the site has hosted a rich mosaic of historical events of international significance which have played a central role in creating the Ireland we know. today, with considerable reach. Sarner is honored to be given the task of helping shape the next chapter in Hill’s history.
